Sophia is a registered psychologist who specialises in working with children and young people aged 4+ years. She holds a Masters degree in Developmental Psychology from the University of Melbourne, and has a background in working with children and adolescents in schools and in the community with a variety of presentations, including anxiety, depression, learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
Sophia is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their learning and wellbeing goals. She is committed to providing compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based support that centres on clients’ and their families’ unique strengths and values. When working with young people, Sophia also believes that therapy should be engaging and fun! And so, her counselling style focuses on the therapeutic alliance and emphasises creativity and flexibility in supporting young people to reach their goals. To this end, Sophia draws on various approaches depending on clients’ needs, including Play Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
In her spare time, Sophia loves to watch movies, read books, and spend time with friends and family.
