Katie is a registered psychologist who works with Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary children and adolescents between the ages of 4 and 18.
Katie provides individual counselling across a range of areas, such as anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, behaviour management, and self-esteem. Katie draws on a range of evidence-based interventions and theoretical approaches in order to best suit the needs of the individual. Katie is passionate about equipping children, adolescents and families with the skills required to thrive.
As well as therapeutic intervention, Katie provides psychological assessments to children and adolescents. She has experience conducting cross-battery assessments, and cognitive and psycho-educational assessments to individuals suspected of neurodevelopmental disorders, such as specific learning disorders and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
Katie has a family centred, holistic approach to therapy and intervention, collaborating with parents, school staff and other health professionals to best support the individual’s needs. Katie believes it is important to work within a multidisciplinary team in order to best support the individual’s strengths and difficulties.
In addition to her work as a Psychologist, Katie is an experienced music teacher. In her spare time, Katie enjoys watching ‘The Office’ and loves spending time with her two cats Daphne and Chester.
