As a lifelong learner, Junjing has attended a variety of training programs including: neurodevelopment treatment, sensory integration, Manual Lymph Drainage Vodder, Anat Baniel Method, and yoga for kids. Prior to joining Okey Dokey, Junjing had experience working with children with special needs across different settings, such as, hospitals, out-patient clinics, schools, and in-home intervention services.
Junjing has worked extensively with children and adolescents living with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, helping promote their developmental skills, school readiness, and social integration. Junjing adopts a family-centred and goal-directed approach to assist with children’s handwriting, pre-writing skills, sensory difficulties, (visual-)motor development, as well as behavioural management.
Community outreach is also especially important to Junjing, and she tries to make a difference by raising social awareness and educating the local community about the challenges children face when they have additional needs. Junjing believes in the importance of empowering parents in terms of understanding the individual differences of their child as well as their own. She has conducted workshops for teachers, parents, and the general public on topics such as sensory processing, emotional regulation, and therapeutic play.
Junjing thrives on helping children reach their potential, and ensuring engagement and enjoyment of the therapeutic process.
